What a great night we had tonight!  Jason, Mickey Mouse and myself went to church for our Halloween event called "Fiesta."  

The night started off with of course getting Caden dressed.  He loved his borrowed costume.  Thank you Tuckers for the contribution!  It was a success.  Caden actually didn't know who Mickey was until tonight.  But tonight, he fell in love with him.  Jason and I laughed the entire time getting him dressed because he was so cute.  Caden also enjoyed looking and laughing at himself in the bathroom mirror.  He loved the costume so much that he left the hat and the gloves on for much longer than I thought he would.  He was a proud little guy.

Fiesta is really a blast for the whole family.  Tons of games, candy, jumpy things, food, cake walk, etc., etc., etc.  Last year Caden went when he was so little.  Tonight we quickly realized he's at a prime age.  Those little legs were moving the entire time.  If his legs weren't moving, his eyes were.  Hope you enjoy our pictures from our time!  

P.S.  I love being a Mommy.  It's so much fun.

Asleep at the wheel...

So Caden's normal routine on a normal day is two naps. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. He is a lover of sleep! Well, on Sundays it's a little different. Because our church starts at 10am he cannot take his morning nap which would normally begin at 10am. I've tried putting him down a little earlier, but he will not sleep. He's always exhausted when we get home from church, but today, the tiredness was exceptional.

I came home to cook him a quick grilled cheese. I wanted his belly full before he went for a nap. He never passes up a yummy grilled cheese, except today. I cooked it, served it and turned my back for 1.5 minutes. You can see the results above. As he fell asleep, there was a piece of sandwhich in his mouth. I forked it out with my finger, wiped him clean and layed my sweet little angel down without a peep.

Our son's new favorite event is to try on our shoes.  Here is the little guy standing in Jason's crocs.  We couldn't pass up this picture moment!  What a cutie pie.

A Day at Hill Ridge Farms!

Our tour started off at the maze.  Caden was obsessed with the rocks.  He especially loved to throw them over the wall.  Typical boy right?

He needed a little rough play for a moment.

The mansion built for goats!  Literally.  This thing was plush with hay inside the barn.  Those guys have it made.

The corn playhouse was one of our favorite events.  It's like a huge, deep sandbox, but instead filled with corn.  Mommy enjoyed it as much as Caden did!  Brought back lots of my childhood memories at Grandaddy Joe's.

The tube slide was the bomb.  It dropped maybe 100 or so feet down a slant.  Caden squealed with excitement every single time.  You could hear him and Jason yelling from a mile away. 

Next were the duck races.  We luckily brought our duck from home because it's one of Caden's favorite toys.  

Our boy started to get tired here on the hayride to the pumpkin patch.  He sat very solemn in Daddy's lap until...

...we arrived to be with the pumpkins.  He came alive again!  That hair stood straight up the entire time in the patch.

After 4 hours, our day ended in the tunnel.  He walked from one end of that thing to the other giggling because he thought Jason and I were coming to get him.

This past Friday we took a family trip to Youngsville, NC to Hill Ridge Farms.  It was incredible.  If you've never been, you should.  We had a blast and were utterly exhausted when we got home.  Caden slept from 8pm Friday night til 7:30am Saturday morning.  Our pictures show the flow of our day for the most part.  We just didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted.  My realization of the day:  Caden is growing up was too fast.  Jason and I are having a blast raising this kid.  It's truly one of the greatest experiences of our lives.

This past weekend we headed down to the beach to celebrate Ken's 60th birthday.  We had a surprise party for Ken at the beach.  Mom did a great job planning and Ken enjoyed himself.  Happy Birthday Ken.  We love you!  

My favorite reading place...

For the past 6 months, one of Caden's favorite hobbies has been to sit behind his rocking chair in his room and read.  It's quite hilarious to Jason and I.  The space behind is very small and that's what makes it so funny.  He squeezes his belly back there and sits comfortably with many books in his lap and around him.  Many times he has approximately 5 to 6 music books playing together continuously.  I can cook in the kitchen for a half an hour and know that he's just fine without looking in.  Elmo is the background music to my cooking!      

At the Beach with Gigi and Papa

Each time Mom and Jessica lifted Caden out of the waves he would laugh his little head off! 

This past weekend Caden and I took one of my girlfriends, Jessica, and her mother to the beach.  Gigi and Papa loved seeing Caden.  We spent a lot of time on the beach and loved it.  I got so much joy out of watching my little boy talk to the sand, smash sand castles and laugh at the waves.  He was a joy for sure.
