A Night with Bill Cosby and Angie!

The man himself.  Pic taken from a balcony.  I appologize for his funny expression.

So Sunday was such a fun night for me.  We had just finished up a long weekend (I will explain more later) and it was finally time to use the tickets Jason got me for my birthday.  I was thrilled.  All the excitement started a few months ago, November, when I opened up my birthday gift from my husband and what did I find...tickets to hear Bill Cosby speak in the newly renovated Arts Center in Durham.  Then in January Jason informed me of the sad news that he could no longer attend with me.  He had a meeting he could not miss and changing it was out of his control.  Oh I felt so sad, but then I asked Angie and she was excited to go with me.  To say the least we had a wonderful time.
My love for Bill Cosby started when I was very young.  I am loud and proud to say that my favorite show to this day is still the Cosby show.  I am only missing a few seasons from my collection of DVD's.  So Bill did a great job.  He was funny of course.  A night with my girl was great.  We had a little pizza afterwards which you know is the perfect end to any night for me.
Thanks sis for going.  Love you.

A weekend of fun!

Just this past weekend I had the privilege to join in a weekend of celebration for Elizabeth's marriage to Bryan in just a few short weeks.  Elizabeth is my oldest friend.  We have been close since I was probably 4 or 5.  She's my homegirl for life.  It's an honor to share in this special time with her.
So it was a weekend of celebration in Myrtle Beach, S.C.  I enjoyed being around girls and doing girls things.  Getting tickled was an hourly event.  Just so fun.  Why is it when a group of girls get together and all they do is laugh?
I drove down to Myrtle Beach on Friday night and met everyone at a restaurant.  On Saturday we went shopping of course and then had the big night for Elizabeth where we went out to eat and went shagging.  She looked so cute dressed up in her bachelorette attire.
I love you Elizabeth and am so thankful to share life with you.

Just Hanging with the Parents

Superman.
Our favorite book..."You're my little love bug."  We love it so much I ordered new batteries for it today.
Crying about Mommy making me wear these crazy sunglasses.
Put the hat on.
(Liz, Stacey, and Taylor, this is for you.)
Take the hat off.
Laugh with Daddy about the hat.
Ride my horsey.
Tonight we are spending some time together so I thought I would show everyone what we do in our free time.  All sorts of things...

P.S.  Our sweet boy was 9 months old yesterday!

Trip to Grandad and Mimi's

"Yo, get that thing away from me."
My favorite sister.
The little rascal.  Jordan chased those chickens until he finally caught one.

The last night Caden and I were alone together we decided to take another road trip.  We went to my Dad's.  When you live in a city it's nice to get out in the country sometimes.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  The country calls my name from time to time.  Caden got to see lots of new things.  Here are our pictures.

Good Morning Daddy

Crinkling the nose is his new way of smiling this week.

1st Runner Up

Doesn't she look beautiful?
Congrats Rachael.  We are so proud of you!!!
This past Saturday night Rachael Delaney was the first runner-up in the Miss Neuse scholarship pagent in Kinston.  We live with Rachael's family each summer when we go to Kinston.  We have always had a special love for her.  Her humility and light is an inspiration.

Did you say food?

The amount before chowing took place.
He always reaches for his food.
Excuse the snarl.  He had had enough.
If you know this little man you know whenever food's around he's wanting it.  That's normally the case until a new food is introduced.  He takes it very hesitantly the first day and then warms up to it slowly.
Today he had his first "table food."  Mom cooked lunch and made mashed potatoes and black eyed peas for Caden in addition to his normal bananas.  His first reflex was to gag of course.  He's a gagger like his mother (I never gagged until I got pregnant.  Now I am the gagging queen.).  Then I had an idea to mix a tad of banana (already familiar food) with a spoonful of the potatoes or peas and he started eating better.  Soon he would eat spoonfuls without any banana.  Good job Caden.  Mommy's proud of your desire to introduce your palette to new foods.

Our Day.

One of Caden's favorite things to do is ride Mom's shoulders and hold onto her hair.  The smile tells it all.
Today Caden and I spent the day with Gigi and Papa.  Lots of fun.  Mom and I went to our favorite store today...T.J. Maxx.  We love that place!  Good to be with you my sweet Mom.

Daddy's Gone...

You're my main squeeze babe.
As Jason drove out of the driveway yesterday, Caden's little eyes followed the car while his hand flapped (we think he's beginning to wave "Bye Bye").  So sweet.
Jason left yesterday for Regent University in Virginia Beach for 6 days.  He's been in grad school now for 2 years.  He takes online courses and one week per semester he has to go on campus to fulfill his lecture hours.  Usually it's me flying lone ranger when he leaves, but this time I have my little partner.  I feel very thankful for him.
We love you Daddy and are missing you a ton!  We can't wait for you to join us again.
