Basket Full of Laundry

We are back!  Been home approx. 5 nights over the last two weeks so the blog has been neglected.  We had a great time going here and there though.
On Sunday Caden turned 8 months old.  He is a full fledged boy at this point.  Hyper and into everything he can get his hands on.  Though he's not crawling if anything is near it's his.  P.S. He's not interested in crawling at all.
With coming home on Sunday laundry awaited Caden and I upon waking up Monday morning.  I had a very special basket that I took extra care of near the end.  Here are his most recent pictures.

First drink from a Sippy Cup

Our little baby is not so little anymore.  Yesterday Dr. Marsland suggested that we start baby proofing our house and that Caden start drinking a little water for his teeth.
So yesterday afternoon Caden and I put little outlet things in all the lower outlets and put a lock on the kitchen cabinet that holds the cleaning supplies.  We wouldn't want the soon to be wanderer to get in there.  He's a very short time from crawling.  Can't quite get all the motions in one action.
The doctor suggested water because of the fluoride for his teeth.  I am almost positive the little guy is teething.  He's drooling like crazy, he ran a one night fever last week, and his naps during the day are very short (not common for him).  When I pick up his upper lip I can see his two front teeth straight ahead through his gums.  They are a little way from popping through though.
Here are some pictures of the little joker today with his first sippy cup experience.  I could just kiss him to death.

Well-Child Check Up

Our little sweet boy a well-child check up yesterday.  He's now 7 1/2 months old.  Here are his stats:

length:  27 1/2 inches (between 50-75%)
head:  17 3/4 (right under 75%)
weight:  15 lbs. 15 oz. (10-25%)

He's a healthy baby.  Dr. Marsland is very pleased!

Annette's Boy

Caden wore his outfit from his Aunt Annette for the first time this Saturday.  You know I had to post this for your Annette.  It was a hit with everyone we saw.  We're just sad you couldn't see him in it in person.  Love you and thanks for being so great to us!

Gigi and Caden

Little foggy but still a sweet picture.
They played in the bathroom mirror.
He loves to grab her hair.
Look at that sweet face.
If those cheeks get any sweeter I will go crazy.  He already gets about 1000 kisses a day.

Caden has not seen Gigi in a while.  She usually comes up every week, but last week because of the snow she was unable to.  So today when she walked through the door he went crazy.  The world stops for Gigi when Caden is around.  Here are some sweet pictures.

"Snow Day"

Getting him warmed up to the idea that ice and coldness is good and fun sometimes...
Once the tongue hit he was a believer...
And then he did a little dance for more...
And then it became his beard.

Caden's new favorite thing is to try to make his Dad bald prematurely.
The two clowns cutting up as usual.

It was so beautiful today in Durham, NC.  I hope you enjoyed your snow today too if you had some...
Jason and I beg for snow all year long and today our dream came true.  We went to bed believing for our gift to await us in the morning.  First thing when I got up this morning I put on my glasses and looked out the window and beauty covered the ground.  I love it.
Caden could take it or leave it.  He's not yet figured out how great snow is.  One day when it gets him out of school he will then realize the joyous occasion of snow.
It snowed here until around 2ish.  So we waited to go outside until it finished.  We knew Caden would not enjoy the ice hitting him in the face.  We suited Caden up and he screamed the whole time (He has such a warm little suit he wears outside from time to time, but it's truly like a straight jacket on him.  It's getting better the bigger he gets.)  So off we go outside.  Jason and I are smiling and in awe of all we got.  Probably around 4 1/2 inches.  We sat Caden in the snow and he was not having it.  So then we just took pictures holding him.
The one thing he does love about the snow...eating it!
Tonight we had a blast just spending time together.

"My Bed Partner"

Caden has a new partner who joins him in his crib during naps.  This little furry friend keeps him company I suppose.  His name is yet to be determined, but he's a part of the family already.
Caden started to give us a few problems when we would put him down in his crib to take naps.  Since I loved stuffed animals as a little girl I thought Caden might like them too.  We had this little dog who feels like silk.  He really is cute.  If I didn't have Jason I would love to sleep with him.
So I put him in Caden's crib one day as Caden started to cry and he immediately stopped.  He rubbed the puppy until he went to sleep.  Sweet moment.
Thank goodness for stuffed animals.
