Dedication Sunday!

On October 12th KPIC (our church) had our quarterly dedication Sunday. 37 sweet children were dedication that day. What a special day it was for all the families. I have anticipated it from Caden's birth.
Jason and I gave our lives to Christ while we were both in high school. Each day I wake up, my life is His. So now as a believing Mom, I also know that Caden's life is His and one day my hope is that Caden will choose Christ for himself too. So that's the biggest reason this day was so special to Jason, me and our family. Jason and I are priviledged to be his parents. To experience Caden Jase McDaniel and his uniqueness on a daily basis is a dream come true. So this Sunday was a chance for us to stand before our church family and say that we will raise this child in a home that follows Christ and also to ask for the pastor's and people's prayers as we raise him.
For those of you who know me well, I am a planner and procrastination is usually not my style. So two weeks before I became so excited I started to think about what kind of lunch we would have with all of our family??? Would I cook, would we go out, if so where would we go, etc. I also wanted to get a cute outfit for our little man.
So the outfit was the first decision made. I shopped around a little. Jason had instructed me, "no girly stuff." That was a given in my mind because I have seen some of his reactions in the past to other outfits, but it did make my shopping a little easier. Above is the one Mommy decided on.
So I decided that I could not cook for that many and be on time for church. Jason was also teaching a class that morning. So I would be flying solo. After church we went out to eat together at good ole' Ruby Tuesdays. Great time.
We had such a great day. All the details I planned were very small things compared to knowing that God was really there and His guidance for raising this child is available to us.

Blogger is BACK!

Hi to Everyone.  Please don't judge the future of this blog by my last month's history.  I have not blogged in almost 1 whole month.  I do have an excuse though...My computer crashed.  This is my excuse for about two weeks and then the other two have been just really busy.  Life is busy though and I guess that's no excuse at all.
I am back and have lots of exciting things to report.  Please stick with us.  I promised myself today to do a better job.  I really love it.
Caden is growing still.  Here's goes a fresh new start!

Mommy's Little Helper

Caden and I folded some clothes today and I got some cut pics. We worked a little, but we also played a little as you can see! I love my boy. He makes even the worst of domestic duties fun.

Mr. and Mrs. Jones

Saturday, two of our good friends were married. Truly one of the most sincere weddings I have ever been a part of. It was such a wonderful time to share in their special weekend. Jason and I consider it an honor. Jessica was a beautiful bride and Matt is already an adoring husband.

Thanks guys for including us. We love you and pray God's richest blessing on your marriage!

A Flower For You Mommy

Isn't this cute?

Yesterday I had a moment with my son that literally brought tears to my eyes. So sweet.
My Mom was here and helping me out with Caden so I could get a little work done. I love her being here because it is difficult not being close to her always, but now especially since we have Caden. Just something about having my own child makes me desire to be close to my Mom too.
Caden was a little fussy in the morning so Mom took him outside. The outdoors makes him immediately quiet. He loves it. After he got himself together, they came back in with a flower in Caden's hand. I don't know what came over me, but I felt like I was going to lose it. Thankfulness and happiness flooded my heart for this little boy. He is such a blessing from God. If someone doesn't believe in miracles, they most likely will if they experience the conception and birth of a child. There is no other word for it than miraculous.
Caden brings a great amount of joy into every day. It's so great to experience new life.

Happy Birthday Papa

Not a good choice of candles for that type of dessert. Thank goodness we didn't burn the place down!

The happy couple and birthday boy.

Kenneth and Alex
Me, Jason and Shane cheesing.

So this was the weekend for birthdays. Ken's was actually on Thursday, 9/18, but he and Mom were in the Cayman Islands. What a great birthday destination. Since we were not able to celebrate with him then we all celebrated on Sunday afternoon. Kenneth drove from Greensboro, and we all met in Raleigh to eat at Amedeos. Nice little Italian place on Western Ave. We had a great time.
This was the first time we have seen Mom and Ken in a little over 2 weeks. Normally we see them once a week or so. Mom made a B-line to Caden as soon as she got out of the car. She missed the little guy. They came back bearing gifts of course. Thanks guys. We love everything.
Ken turned 59 years old last week. Next year is the BIG 6-0. Happy Birthday Papa. Thanks for letting us celebrate with you and thanks for lunch...poor guy. He paid for everyone to eat with him for his birthday lunch. I'm sure Jason and I will be doing the same thing one day.

Happy Birthday Tif

The only person missing was my sweetheart.

Look at the way Charlie stares at his friend.
He must love Caden already.

Sweet Mylie digging into the chocolate cake.

Charlie preparing for the next bite of his green peas. What a cutie.

On Saturday, Caden and I had the priviledge of going to a birthday party in celebration of Tiffany. We had a great time. The party was on Saturday afternoon at Duke Gardens. What a beautiful place. If you've never been you should go sometime. You feel like you are walking through a movie scene. Really, that beautiful.
Tif had many friends and her family there to celebrate her. They had games going, a picnic dinner and everyone's birthday favorite...cake or brownies.
Hope you had a great birthday. We love you Tif.
